[FREE PRINTABLES] one2tuition Weekly Planner

How to have our children finish their work without nagging?

Sounds very good, ya. We love it very much too ❤️ It took us quite some time to figure out the effective way to do so.

We ask them to make their own homework planning. Yes, you did not read it wrong. They plan their own homework. Our task is to guide and coach them. Each week, at the end of the lesson, we discuss the things that they will need to work on throughout the week. It can be drilling, revising, and all sort of things that they feel they need to work on. The key thing is what they need, not what we want.

After which, they will plan when they will do it throughout the week, considering their other activities and workload.

How does it go? So far it works for us. We have lesser feedback of students spending too much time studying, cannot finish their homework, need pushing and so on. And the good thing is, with proper planning, they manage to squeeze their well-deserved breaks here and there before moving on to the next task.

Letting them taking ownership in their things is the key. When they understand why certain things need to be done, they will do it voluntarily.

Do you have any other ideas that have been working well? Do share it with us because we'd love to learn from you. 😊😊😊
